The Simple Longevity Trick That Leaves You Feeling More Alive…Instantly

A few months back I listened to a fascinating audio interview with active longevity researcher David Wolfe. In the interview, he talked about several of the most important factors in living a long, healthy, fulfilling life. One of these factors, however, is something that most people have absolutely no idea about- and that factor is something called nerve vitality.

Nerve vitality is simply the health of our nerves- their ability to carry the impulses that allow us to “feel” and experience the world around us. What most people don’t know is that increasing your nerve vitality is one of the most powerful ways to secure a strong life of longevity! Think about it. When you increase your ability to “feel” with your senses, you feel more alive! Have you ever jumped into an ice-cold waterfall or a freezing pool or river? How alive did that make you feel? In that moment, did you feel all your worries and troubles wash away and leave feeling refreshed and renewed? When you subject yourself to cold or hot temperatures beyond your comfort zone, you’re actively increasing your nerve vitality, or again what I like to think of as your ability to feel.

So what’s this simple longevity trick that leaves you feeling more alive instantly? It’s to turn that comfortable, warm shower over to a revitalizing ice-cold blast for just a few seconds! That’s it! You just let the cold, invigorating water flow over your body and wake up every last cell that may have been a little sluggish and tired. Before your mind tells you that this is too quick and easy to be effective, consider this: with that one simple action, you’re sending a powerful rush of blood through your body, challenging it to adapt to a new environment, increasing your nerve vitality, and taking one more step toward living a long, healthy life! The strong blood flow encouraged by this habit is also one of the reasons for increasing longevity- we all know that poor blood flow isn’t the answer to unlimited energy in our daily lives!

Alright, we can all see the long-term effects laid out above (and they’re impressive)…but what’s the immediate effect of these few seconds? Feeling more alive! In fact, feeling dramatically more alive. I invite you to challenge yourself to try this technique just once the next time you’re in the shower (or if you happen to have access to a refreshing waterfall, lake, river or pool). I promise that you’ll instantly feel more alive and exhilarated, and that it’s also a powerful step in taking charge of your own personal energy, longevity, and ability to feel good all the time!

Congratulations on your website accomplishment. If you like I will pass it on to those military you knew at Bethesda. I like the hot & cold feeling alive. I love a hot tub after being in the snow. Sure wish my feet felt that way. Have painful peripheral neuropathy. I used to love grass between my toes. It’s a good site.

Thanks Carol! I’m sorry to hear that, but hopefully all of the resources here help to some degree- I’m not sure of the details of your peripheral neuropathy, but if it’s with nerve sensation then this may help! There’s also a lot of fascinating research about nerve regeneration with magnetism and other means, if you’re interested I could definitely do a post on that sometime in the near future!

Let me know,

John
