@ BJ: That&#039;s a great question, your diet definitely has a tremendous effect on your ability to concentrate. The best example I can think of off the top of my head is little kids on soda or candy - the sugar completely throws off their ability to concentrate their mind, and turns them restless in the high first, followed by the low crash. So one important thing is killing off all the added sugars and sugar substitutes, choosing to get your sugars from fresh fruit and other natural foods. When your blood sugar is balanced, your mind is balanced so the meal you eat before studying is really key. 

A great strategy might be to play around with some of your more common meals and see what gives you the most long-term, stable energy. Nuts and seeds make a great long-term snack anytime!

I think it&#039;s a great idea,,, and a headstart to getting the water we need for the day...I&#039;ve read that most headaches are from dehydration...So maybe we would also be a &quot;happier world&quot; if everyone drank two big glasses of water upon rising...  Also know that a teaspoon or two of lemon or lime juice added to that water can ramp up the detox effects...
