John – Nice job – some fasting ideas I have read about include syrup, lemon juice and water. Any thoughts?

I know I talked to you privately about this one, but I figured I’d throw up a quick note for everyone else reading the blog here:

The “Master Cleanse” is what he’s talking about above, and it’s one of the more popular and talked about cleanses out there. There’s a few reasons: the lemon juice goes to work dissolving mucus and a lot of the debris locked up in the body and is a tremendous cleanser and purifier in general. The maple syrup provides sugar for the cells to run on, the idea being that you’ll have more fuel for your cells and more clarity.

I personally like water fasting pure and simple – pure, clear water for a short fast to rest and recover. Every blue moon I’ll go ahead and squeeze in a fresh lemon for a natural lemonade, but for a fast I’d go with water.
